21/06/02 Feile na nGael comes to Ulster as Johnnies welcome Clonlara

This year's Coca Cola sponsored Feile na nGael kicks off today at over 60 different venues throughout Ulster celebrating Ireland's youth in hurling, football, camogie and handball in what promises to be yet another great All-Ireland event. And, as over 4000 boys and girls from all over Ireland descend upon Ulster this weekend the Johnnies youngsters greeted the County Clare champions Clonlara, their supporters and families, in Corrigan Park yesterday evening.

Corrigan Park will play host to various matches throughout the weekend including the Division Two and Division Three Camogie Finals on Saturday.

The club's youngsters take on the Clare Champions in Division One of the competition today and will be eager to continue St. John's good form in this annual event. Aidan Kelly had this to say about the club's chances:

"Our lads can hardly wait for their first game against the Clare champions Clonlara. We were beaten by Rossa by one point in the Under-14 Hurling Championship last week but, up until then, we were doing great so the lads are really looking forward to the game on Friday morning".

The club's camogs are also in action this weekend and, as with the lads, are representing the club and county in Division One of their respective competition.

Best of luck to the club's youngsters this weekend and also to their Clare counterparts and we hope they, and their families, all enjoy the event.
