28/04/03 Minor footballers record win over
O'Donnells
It was a one way route for St. John's on Monday night
when they played a very young and weak ODonnell's side. No fault
to the conditions St. John's got off to a flying start scoring 4 points
within 5 minutes of play. They continued their scoring with young Kevin
McGuinness scoring an impressive personal tally of 2-3. Within the forward
line all the forwards scored with the exception of John Mead, who instead
seemed to set up a lot of plays and scores, with the help of Kevin McGlinchey
and Aaron Douglas.
This is one match you could safely say the forwards got
a full delivery of exactly what they wanted. Whilst this game may sound
as if the six backs had nothing to do in reality it was much different.
Whenever the other team got a chance to go forward they looked strong
but our defenders were well on top with Ciaran McCurdy cleaning up well
in the half back line, as well as Liam Boyle who done very well in there.
Man of the match has to go to Gary rafferty.
Scorers:
N.Callin, L. Knocker 0-1 each, K. McGlinchey, A. Douglas,
S. Rooney 0-2 each,
J. Herald 1-01, A. Oliver 1-04, G. Rafferty 2-02, K. McGuinness 2-03
