30/07/03 St. John's U-15's beaten by Portaferry
in challenge game
PORTAFERRY 8:06 ST.JOHNS 4:10
St.Johns U-15 hurlers managed
to pull back some respectability in this challenge game against a strong
Portaferry side sporting several 16 year olds. St.Johns started well enough
with 2 quick points from Barry McFall but soon fell to a superb Portaferry
onslaught which built up a mammoth 17 point lead at the interval.
A verbal roasting at half-time
appeared to do the trick and St.John's, with their pride stung, certainly
brought the game home to the Ards lads. Colm McCruddens 2nd half
hatrick certainly lifted the game.
Overall few of the St. John's
team could take satisfaction from their performance with the exception
of Barry McFall with an excellent 0-09 point tally and Ciaran McKissocks
2nd half performance in goal.
St.Johns scorers: Barry McFall

Flannery 1-00.
