02/11/03 Minor footballers take revenge over Davitts in League Final

St. John's gave a spirited and gutsy performance on Sunday to beat arch rivals Davitts in the football league final and at the same time put to bed a few ghosts in the process.

The odds looked heavily stacked against the team which was missing some 5 or 6 regular first team players however, appearances can be deceiving - the Johnnies minors gave everything and were justly rewarded with a memorable win and the League title - which no doubt gave all supporters who were in attendance something to cheer about.
