Our slightly insane U-16 Hurlers, their mentors and 3 hardy supporters (Raff Gatt 10 minutes, Gerard Shannon 45 minutes and Jim Donnelly 2 minutes - thanks Jim, you're a real brick!) entertained La Salle at Woodlands on Saturday, as La Salle prepared for their forthcoming Forresters Colleges Hurling clash with St. Pats Maghera.

'You try wearing shorts on a day like this!'

La Salle sporting several Johnnies, Tomas Shannon, Brian Holmes, Daire Maskey and Brendan O'Neill certainly were the stronger in the first half, with the Artic wind at their backs, and built up a comfortable 3:02 to 0:01 lead at half time. St .Johns with the weather front deteriorating rapidly managed to pull some scores back in the second half to leave the La Salle 5th years with a 4 point win.

'Why does it always rain on me?'

Certainly Terry McGuiness, Noel McGarry, Brian Holmes, Christopher Fay and Donal's Brady and Armstrong showed their true metal in such inclement conditions.
