18/04/04 St. John's Division 2
Hurlers draw level away to McD's
All County Hurling League Division 2 Falls Park
McDermotts 4:09
St. Johns 4:09
St. Johns senior Division 2 Hurlers threw away a glorious
opportunity to secure a 100% start to their Division
2 campaign with a draw against mcDermotts in the Park
on Sunday.
Despite being 13 points in front at half-time(3:06
to 0:02) and 6 points in front with 4 minutes to go
the physically competitive McDermotts took the game
to the Johnnies and managed to secure a draw. This was
certainly a game that got away and although the strong
breeze did dictate a game of two halves a lot of players
must be wondering how we didnt secure all points.
Full credit to the McDees for carving out
a result for themselves with Chris Turley and Kevin
Burns starring. St. Johns had excellent performances
from Colin Thompson (Golden Balls & Broken Toe),
Colm McFall and the evergreen skilled artist known as
Conor McCaffrey or McCaff to his friends(2).
Conor trains every day at lunch time at a well known
private health club.

Footnote: Well
done to Colin Thompson on his speedy recovery of his
broken toe which he sustained in the St.Patricks Day
debacle. Colin felt aggrieved that no one asked about
his big toe. Anyone with any suitable nickname for Golden
Balls Broken Toe. kindly forward them to the website.
Also
we hope Gerardo Hamilton makes a speedy recovery as
he goes under the knife for some injury sustained in
the service of theBlue & White.
