St. Johns minor Hurlers maintained their 100% start to their league campaign with a good win over a highly rated Glenariffe on Wednesday evening.

Against quite a strong breeze the Johnnies managed to go into the interval six points up (1:09 to 1:03) with some excellent direct hurling from Ciaran McCurdy in particular and Liam Knocker, Colm McFall and Jimmy Peoples, who played probably his best game so far this year in a blue and white shirt. Glenariffe at this stage were not hurling as well as expected and found themselves under pressure despite the best efforts of Ciaran Graham, Randal McDonnell, Chris Kelly, Seamus Doherty & Conan McToal.

The second half saw St. Johns continue to put scores on the board as Glenariffe's forwards were unable to capitalize on the supply presented to them. Although things did liven up towards the end with a one man pitch invasion the result never looked in doubt.

St. Johns were well served by Ciaran McCurdy, Liam Knocker, Colm McFall, Barry McFall and the sharp Jimmy Peoples. Glenariffe’s best were Ciaran Graham, Fergal McDonnell, Randal McDonnell, Chris Kelly, Seamus Doherty and Conan McToal.
