Thurles Og, Tipperary 3:09
St.Johns, Antrim 3:11
St. Johns U-12 Hurlers had a superb win over Tipperary
hot shots Thurles Og in Thurles on Saturday. Trailing
by 7 points these magnificent Johnnies came back for a
superb victory in an excellent game of Hurling. Declan
Creggan, Conor Gallagher & Ciaran Johnston were the
stars for the Johnnies.

St. Lachtains, Kilkenny 2:02
St.Johns, Antrim 5:10
St. Johns U-12 Hurlers finished their trip to Leinster
& Munster with a fine win over North Kilkenny club
St.Lachtains. Certainly another excellent team performance
by this very capable and gifted U-12 team. Tierney, Garland
& Johnston were on fire in this one for the Antrim
men.

Ballycran 3:14
St. Johns U-16 Hurlers came up against an excellent Ballycran
outfit in the South Antrim league on Sunday. The first
half was reasonably competitive with the Cran
taking a half-time lead of 2:01 to 0:01 with St.Johns
conceding two very soft goals.
But the second half saw Ballycran take complete control
of the game with their superior strength and above all
Hurling ability coming to dominant a tame second half.
Certainly on this performance, this superb Ballycran team
will produce a host of senior talent for Ballycran, Down
and Ulster in years to come.
St.Johns were best served by Peter McGarrity, James Darragh
, Aodh Hamilton, Colm McCrudden and Marty Elliott.

St. Johns 3:15
St. Galls 0:02
Joe McCallins St. Johns Minor Hurlers continued
their impressive steady progress in the minor Hurling
league with their 4th win in a row in the league this
time against St.Galls in a cold and damp Corrigan Park
on Wednesday evening. Playing without several major players,
missing mainly through injury and suspension the young
Johnnies controlled this pedestrian game from start to
finish going in at half-time 1:05 to 0:02 in front before
romping home in the second period.
St. Galls goal minder Brendan Earley and full-back had
a good hour as did the skilful Sean OHara. For St.Johns
Maskey, McCann & McCrudden were steady in defence
and McStein, Peoples and Fearon showed up well in attack
and Simon McCrory again impressive at centre field.

South Antrim Football League (Poleglass Pitch)
St. Johns 1:07
Davitts 5:08
St. Johns U-16 footballers fell to a physically strong
Davitts side in the league on Thursday evening. Trailing
0:02 to 0:01 after 25 minutes , disaster struck with two
soft goals being conceded on 28 & 29 minutes to leave
Davitts with a 2:01 to 0:01 half-time lead. St.Johns had
hit the Davitts cross bar twice in the first half and
had squandered 4 pointable frees and this ultimately was
to cost them extremely dearly.
The second half saw the Davitts men increase their lead
and ultimately run out as comfortable 13 point winners.
Aodh Hamilton, Eoghan Caldwell, Kevin Cunningham, Paul
Downey, Conor Kearney and Brian Neeson had good games
for the Johnnies.

16 Select versus St. Ciaran's Kilkenny (Corrigan Park)
St. Johns, Antrim U-16 Select 4:10
St. Ciarans College, Kilkenny 4:05
St.Ciarans College , Kilkenny travelled to Belfast over
the weekend as guests of La Salle College and part of
their itinerary was a challenge game against a St. Johns
U-16 select missing 8 players due to U-16 County commitments,
work, travel and injury.
The young Kilkenny lads certainly made for an exciting
close encounter and it was only with the arrival of the
St.Johns absent U-16 County players that the Johnnies
managed to secure victory in this pleasant sporting encounter.
Chris Cummins, Brian McPartland, Joe Walsh, Oisin Daly,
Philip Healy, PJ Delaney, Paul Barrett ,Rick Laden and
David Walton all had a good hour for St.Ciarans.
While Sean McDaniel, Aodh Hamilton, Colm McCrudden, Pat
Gregory, James Darragh, Anthony Moore and late arrivals
Eoghan Caldwell, Aodhan Mulholland and Marty Elliott did
the business for the Antrim men.

Sarsfields 3:03 (12)
St. Johns 2:09 (15)
St. Johns U-16s in their second club game in 19
hours managed to defeat a more interested Sarsfields team
in the south Antrim U-16 league on Sunday morning. Going
in at the interval 1:08 to 1:01 in front after playing
against the breeze the expected flurry of scores from
St.Johns did not materialise in the second half as Sarsfields
clawed back a few scores.
Certainly Conor Donnellys first half goal for Sarsfields
was a curious one when he found himself through on a one
on one tussell with St.Johns goal minder Ciaran McKissock.
He managed to kick the sliotar from 25 yards out on the
ground to the Johnnies net. Certainly one of the longest
kicks to the net ever recorded in Hurling.!!
Eamon Kellys goal from a 80m free early in the
second half gave Sarsields hope but the Johnnies managed
to maintain their lead when threatened.
Caldwell, Moore, McCrudden, Darragh, Shannon, McGibbon
& Mulholland were best for St. Johns while The
Lion Kelly, Maguire, Caldwell, McStravick and Hill
were best for Sarsfields.
