St. Johns U-16's continued their steady progress in
the South Antrim League on a really scorching May Sunday
in Corrigan. They however made hard work of a first
half where the sides went in level 1:02 apiece. They
however went up several gears in the second half scoring
4:05 (17) to the Galls solitary goal.
Another tale of two halves for the Johnnies with a
poor first half performance only to be greatly improved
in the second half. St. Johns defence again were in
solid form with Colm McCrudden and Aodh Hamilton in
fine form with good support from Marty Elliott, Sean
McDaniel, James Darragh and Anthony Moore.
The second half midfield pairing of Eoghan Caldwell
and Aodhan Mulholland dominated this sector. The forwards
shone in fits and starts with Barry McFall taking his
normal brace of goals, as did Brian 'Homer' Holmes with
an excellent side-line cut from the right wing to boot.
The McGibbon cousins Jamesey and Brendan were extremely
sharp with their introduction on 23 and 37 minutes.
