13/03/05 "The weekend the Salmon became a Stag"

Galway City was the venue for the most eagerly awaited event of the St. John's GAC calender recently - Barry Mulgrew's Stag Weekend. Contrary to rumours the event passed off without a hitch or hefty hotel room bills for that matter as Galway witnessed the most well behaved group of St. John's men ever to enter the Tribe County.

As a strict rule of the St. John's GAC constitution no recounting of events can take place, however there are clues which remain firmly in the public domain. Take the front page of Monday's Irish Independent (below) for an example.

Mionday 28th February 2005 front page of Irish Independent

All that the website can report is the following:

1.The mystery winner of the unofficial Belfast-Galway Cannonball Run 2005 categorically did not go shopping whilst others went drinking.
2. The mystery winner of the unofficial Belfast-Galway Cannonball Run 2005 categorically
did not go to bed at 8pm.
3. The Quays Bar employs the tallest bouncer in Ireland
4. Automatic doors are a hazard and should be approached with due care and attention
