MacDermotts secured a 10 point victory over a young Johnnies side in this top of the table Division 2 South clash to leave them in prime position for the Division 2 title.
Going in 3:05 to 1:03 in front at the interval the 'Macs' held their edge on the game despite a St. Johns resurgence in the second period. The 'Macs' produced an all round team performance with their fullback line in dominant form. Up front Thomas Maguire, Gerard Turley were in the sharpest of form and were well supported by Kevin Burns, Kevin Maguire, Brian Maguire and Christopher Turley. St. Johns had good performances from Fergal Collins, Conor McCaffrey, Eoghan Caldwell, Adrian Oliver and Fionntain McKillop.
